Brandywine Trio presents benefit for

Susan B. Anthony House

Rochester, NY—The Brandywine Trio, three exciting and dynamic young musicians from the faculty of the Hochstein School of Music, will present an evening of stunning music by remarkable women composers of the 19th-, 20th-, and 21st– centuries in a concert to benefit the Susan B. Anthony House. The event takes place Thursday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m. at Third Presbyterian Church, corner of East and Meigs, in downtown Rochester. Tickets are $12 each and can be ordered by calling 585-279-7490, ext. 10. Tickets will also be available at the door.

Violinist Ruth Marie Ballance created the event as a way to honor great women composers because she wanted to do something to support the Susan B. Anthony House. She is joined in the trio by pianist Doleen Hood and cellist Jared Ballance. The program will include the Trio in D Minor, Op. 11 by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, sister of Felix; the Piano Trio, Op. 150, by music prodigy Amy Beach; and the funk-inspired piano trio written by up-and-coming composer Orianna Webb. For more information on the program and performers, please contact Ruth Marie Balance at 216-496-1150 or rmbridge@hotmail.com.

The Susan B. Anthony House is supported primarily through the contributions of its members and donors. The Susan B. Anthony House is not affiliated with other organizations bearing her name.

Mission Statement (adopted 1/2007): The Susan B. Anthony House is a learning center through which we share and interpret Miss Anthony’s life as a champion of women’s rights, thereby inspiring and challenging individuals to make a positive difference in their lives and communities.
